No Evictions No Police | September 1 Action Sheet

We are facing an eviction crisis of unimaginable proportions. Before the pandemic struck, millions were already struggling to pay rent. Now, 28 million renters across the country are at risk of eviction-- that’s almost 3 Foreclosure Crises at once. And just like last time, Black and Brown communities will be the hardest hit. At the same time, we are facing a long overdue racial justice uprising and calls to defund and abolish the police nationwide. Meanwhile, the pandemic and financial crises rage on with no apparent end in sight. The federal and state governments aren’t doing nearly enough to prevent an all-out catastrophe.

New York State Housing Justice for All

New York State Housing Justice for All

Housing Justice for All is a campaign led by the Upstate Downstate Housing Alliance. We are a diverse coalition of tenants, homeless people, manufactured housing residents, and advocates. We represent New Yorkers from every part of the state, including Long Island, New York City, Westchester, the mid-Hudson Valley, the Capital Region, the Southern Tier, the Mohawk Valley and Western New York. We are united in our fight for stronger tenant protections, an end to evictions, and an end to homelessness in New York.
